LECTURE IN ENGLISH – During the period 1945-1975 almost 50.000 new dwellings were built in Brussels, varying from single family houses, medium-rise urban apartments to high-rise building blocks. The majority of these needs retrofitting within the next decades, as building materials deteriorate and demands regarding comfort and energy increase. Today, the time has come to conceive appropriate renovation concepts, and to work towards a qualitative selection.
