Xavier Folville, site Centre Serrurier-Bovy Université de Liège, medicine Faculté d’Architecture

EN – Xavier Folvillle graduated in History of Art and Archaeology at the University of Liège in 1979 and has since been active on the Belgian art, architecture and heritage scene as member or director of different organizations. For many years he has been teaching different courses on architecture, design and monument care at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Liège. As an expert he has been member of the Royal Committee for Monuments and Landscapes (regional department). As president of the Centre Serrurier-Bovy , which deals with the furniture and decorative arts from the beginning of the Art Nouveau, he is also responsible for the archive of the documentation centre which is kept at the University of Liège. In the last years he has been publishing extensively on the work of Gustave Serrurier-Bovy.

NL – Xavier Folville studeerde af in Kunstgeschiedenis en Archeologie aan de Universiteit van Luik in 1979 en was sindsdien actief op de Belgische kunst-, architectuur- en erfgoedscene als lid of directeur van verschillende organisaties. Gedurende vele jaren doceerde hij verschillende vakken rond architectuur, design en monumentenzorg aan de Faculteit Architectuur van de Luikse universiteit. Hij was als expert lid van Koninklijke Commissie voor Monumenten, sites en opgravingen (regionale afdeling). Als voorzitter van het Centrum Serrurier-Bovy, dat zich bezig houdt met de meubel- en decoratieve kunsten aan het begin van de Art Nouveau, is hij ook verantwoordelijk voor het archief van het documentatiecentrum dat gehuisvest is aan de Universiteit van Luik. In de laatste jaaren heeft hij uitvoerig gepubliceerd over het werk van Gustave Serrurier-Bovy.

Prof. Dr. Els De Vos

EN – Professor Els De Vos is civil engineer in architecture and spatial planner at the Faculty of Design Sciences of the University Antwerp, where she teaches in architecture and interior architecture. Her book ‘How would we like to live? Discourses on dwelling in Flanders during the 1960’s and 70’s’ Hoe zouden we graag wonen? Woonvertogen in Vlaanderen tijdens de jaren zestig en zeventig was published by University Press Leuven. She also co-edits various books for University Press Antwerp and she published in national and international magazines such as Technology and Culture or the Journal of Interior Design. Her field of interest includes in post-war architecture, gender, dwelling culture, public space, architecture education and interior architecture. Currently she is preparing with colleagues a monography on the work of Jul De Roover.

NL – Els De Vos is prof.dr.ir.-architect-ruimtelijke planner aan de Faculteit Ontwerpwetenschappen van de Universiteit Antwerpen waar ze doceert aan de opleidingen architectuur en interieurarchitectuur. Haar boek Hoe zouden we graag wonen? Woonvertogen in Vlaanderen tijdens de jaren zestig en zeventig verscheen bij de Universitaire Pers Leuven. Daarnaast co-edit ze diverse boeken bij de Universitaire Pers Antwerpen en publiceerde ze in diverse nationale en internationale tijdschriften, zoals Technology and Culture of de Journal of Interior Design. Haar interesseveld situeert zich op het gebied van de naoorlogse architectuur, gender, wooncultuur, publieke ruimte, architectuuronderwijs en interieurarchitectuur. Momenteel bereidt ze, samen met enkele collega’s, een monografie voor over het werk van Jul De Roover.

Irene Lund

EN – Irene Amanti Lund graduated as an architect from ISACF-La Cambre in Brussels (Belgium) in 1999 and has a postgraduate Master in architecture from the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) in 2002. She is researcher and assistant at the Faculty of Architecture of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where she teaches in the design studio of “innovative housing” and coordinates the collection of architecture archives of the university. Besides she is conducting a joint PhD between Ghent University and Université libre de Bruxelles on the subject of Pierre-Louis Flouquet’s writings on design. She is also co-author of L.-J. Baucher, J-P Blondel, O. Filippone. Trois architects modernistes (2010), a monography on a trio of Belgian architects of the post-war period.

NL – Irene Amanti Lund studeerde af als architect aan het ISACF-La Cambre in Brussel in 1999 en heeft een postgraduate Master in architectuur van het Berlage Instituut in Rotterdam in 2002. Ze is onderzoeker en assistent aan de Faculteit Architectuur van de ULB, waar ze doceert in het ontwerpatelier “innovatieve woningbouw” en tevens de collectie architectuurarchieven van de universiteit beheert. Daarnaast begeleidt ze een PhD, gecombineerd aan de UGent en de ULB, over de architectuurgeschriften van Pierre-Louis Flouquet. Ze is co-auteur van L.-J. Baucher, J-P Blondel, O. Filippone. Trois architects modernistes (2010), een monografie over een trio naoorlogse Belgische architecten.

Eva Storgaard

EN – Eva Storgard was trained as an architect at the Architecture School of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. She lives and works in Belgium since 1998. From 2005 she is attached to the Faculty of Design Sciences of University Antwerp, as a researcher, teacher and studio assistant at Master level in Interior Architecture. She regularly publishes in various architecture magazines. Currently she is preparing a PhD on Scandinavian Modernism. Craft, the culture of making and furniture is herein central. With architect Christian Kieckens she co-authored the 2012 book ‘Pieter De Bruyne (1931-1987). Pioneer of Postmodernism’ (Pieter De Bruyne (1931-1987). Pionier van het postmoderne.)

NL – Eva Storgaard is opgeleid als architect aan de Architectuurschool van de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten, Kopenhagen, Denemarken. Ze woont en werkt in België sinds 1998. Sinds 2005 is ze verbonden aan de faculteit Ontwerpwetenschappen van de Universiteit Antwerpen, als onderzoeker, docent en praktijkassistent van de masteropleiding interieurarchitectuur. Ze schrijft regelmatig voor diverse architectuurtijdschriften. Momenteel werkt ze aan een PhD over het Scandinavisch Modernisme. Ambacht, de cultuur van het maken en meubels staan hierin centraal. Zij is samen met architect Christian Kieckens auteur van het in 2012 verschenen boek Pieter De Bruyne (1931-1987). Pionier van het postmoderne.
