Bill Addis is the author of over 100 publications on the history of building engineering, construction materials and building design. He worked for 17 years as an academic at the University of Reading and later 15 years with consulting engineers Buro Happold. He has recently been Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge, Visiting/Guest Professor at the Tor Vergata University in Rome, the University of San Sebastian, the ETH in Zurich and the University of Innsbruck. He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the dpt. of Architectural Engineering of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is the Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Panel for Engineering History and Heritage published by the Institution of Civil Engineers in London and was co-editor of Construction History.
