(EN) Lecture by Herman Hertzberger
LECTURE | Thu. 6 Oct 2016, pharmacy 20:00 | Bozar, generic Brussels
Herman Hertzberger needs little introduction: as the icon of structuralism, cheap winner of the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 2012 and author of a series of memorable architecture lectures given at Delft University of Technology — available since 1991 in the series ‘Lessons in Architecture’ — he is one of the most renowned Dutch architects of his generation. His Architectuurstudio HH, founded in 1958, has helped shape over 50 years of architecture history with a precisely constructed oeuvre in which concepts such as “public space” and “intimacy” are central. Hertzberger’s vision, both utopian and philanthropic, has been expressed in the many public buildings, schools and homes that he designed in the course of his career. You can discover his work at BOZAR on 6 October.
