In Memoriam bOb Van Reeth

bOb Van Reeth, was one of Belgium’s most influential architects. His work includes several landmarks etched in the collective memory, such as the Zuiderterras and the striking black-and-white Van Roosmalen House on the Antwerp quays, the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, and new wings of both Kazerne Dossin in Mechelen and the Saint-Sixtus Abbey in Westvleteren.

In 1998, he was appointed by the Flemish government as the very first Flemish Government Architect, a successful role created to shape and improve architectural policy in Flanders. He held this position until 2005.

Van Reeth, who always styled his name as bOb Van Reeth, passed away 30 September 2025 at the age of 82.
