BBMA Debate: Living in Modernism? (NL/FR)

DEBATE | 20.10.2020, 19h30 | Flagey, Ixelles (Brussels)

EN For this fourth edition of the BBMA, Maurizio Cohen has composed a pamphlet text in which he draws attention to the denouncement and image problem of post-war heritage. He describes how we need to look at the recent past with renewed curiosity and reacquaint ourselves with this bold, social, experimental and leading heritage. In this accompanying debate, specialists from the academic world, architectural practice and policy, as well as residents of post-war architecture, discuss all these issues with one another. What is the appreciation of post-war heritage (a large part of the heritage of the Brussels Region), what are the needs of owners and tenants, what are the bottlenecks, what is the heritage value, and how can this heritage become multifunctional, touristic and sustainable?
