To mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, the Art & Design Atomium Museum (ADAM) and Moscow Design Museum are going to present a special exhibition The Paper Revolution 1920 – 1930’s.
On Thursday 08.06.2017 ADAM organizes the lecture “Constructivist Manifesto” by Alexandra Sankova, curator of the exhibition and director of the Moscow Design Museum.

At the very beginning avant-garde ideas responded perfectly to the ideals and aims of the new country. Designers created visual identity of the new state. They used new methods of political propaganda: photomontage, typography, agitprop stands etc. They started the new era in Russian art. Despite high standarts and professionalism most of the projects were left on the stage of prototypes.

At the same time as soon as the new government came to full power it saw the ideas of new designers as unnecessary.

Lecture by Alexandra Sankova, Director of the Moscow Design Museum, specialist in the history of design, curator.
Master Degree in Graphic Design, Moscow State Arts and Industry University named after S. Stroganov, Department of Communicative Design
